On becoming the Head of Risk Management Group in Guaranty Trust Bank, I set up the Bank’s Credit School where I sometimes taught. I was priviledged to head several if the core banking groups including Corporate, Investment, Commercial Banking Groups as well as Settlements which comprised Domestic and Foreign Operations. I have also been blessed to have record of firsts; the first female Executive Director of Guaranty Trust Bank, the first female director of Access Bank, first female director of Premium Pensions Limited, first female Chairman of Access Bank and first female Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of Council of Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago-Iwoye, Ogun State. During my tenure as Chairman, Access Bank recorded unprecedented growth in key parameters which has seen it emerge as Nigeria’s number one bank in several key performance indices and Africa’s largest bank by customer size.

After retiring from the banking industry, my passion for teaching motivated me to set up The KRC Limited, where fellow bankers were trained. The seed and the drive for establishing a secondary school were therefore sown at this stage.

Over the past 20 years or more, Nigeria has witnessed a continuous decline in the quality of education and the value system of the country.

In response to this and driven by a single purpose to radically reverse this trend, as well as give back to my community, CKA, a world class secondary school that will over time be comparable to any national or international secondary school was birthed.

My vision for CKA is to provide a secondary school within a local environment in Ijebu Ode where future generations can be nurtured to become confident, resilient global citizens with skills, knowledge and attributes that will enable them prepare for a global economy and to succeed in a rapidly changing world.

To achieve these objectives therefore, we have developed CKA as a window into a vibrant tomorrow, where every student is given the opportunity to develop to their full potential in a caring and nurturing environment that fosters creativity, promotes empathy, and reduces prejudice through understanding various cultures and social groups, while still allowing students to maintain and celebrate their individual cultural and family values.

CKA was therefore founded on the three ethical pillars of Culture, Character, and Confidence.
